Rabbi Saul Grife is pleased to announce the upcoming release of his debut CD entitled "Tales from the First Book"

The CD contains original songs (music and lyrics) based upon the narrative stories of the first book of the Torah and Bible entitled Genesis. The songs feature the highlights of the book beginning with the creation of the world. The stories of Noah, Abraham and Sarah, the destruction of Sodom and Gemorrah, Jacob and Joseph are covered in sequential order. Individually and collectively, the songs present the drama, energy and emotions of these compelling stories, uniquely presented to breathe new life into these ancient tales. The listener will be fascinated with the explorative and interpretive approach that Rabbi Saul takes in order to revitalize the narrative and touch us with the timeless universal spectrum of emotions of love, conflict, harmony, anger, fear, faith and peace. Rabbi Saul thanks producer and instrumentalist extraordinaire Joe Mass for his wizardry in helping to translate the "vision into reality"!

An adventurous range of musical influences find a home on the CD, including classic rock, inspirational, blues and Broadway. The eclectic listener will be pleasantly surprised by the unpredictable presentation of various types of music. Each piece stands strong and well on its own. Together, the songs are woven to present a concept album - a veritable rock opera that captures the stories and drama of the Book of Genesis in a way not heard before.

Rabbi Saul Grife has been the spiritual leader of Congregation Beth Tikvah-Bnai Jeshurun for the last 10 years. His eclectic past and approach includes heartfelt connections to all branches of Jewish life, including Reconstructionist, Conservative and Orthodox. He is a veteran leader of camping, cross-country trips and pilgrimages to Israel. Rabbi Saul is married to Linda Grife and proud father to Gabby, Alana and Shira. His services, classes, concerts and appearances have enlightened, informed and entertained the souls of many. His unique presentation of "Judaism and the Grateful Dead" is a joyous celebration of community, music and faith. Rabbi Saul hopes that "Tales" will become an enlightening and inspiring offering of love and a prayer of peace for all humanity!

Rabbi Saul has put his "heart, soul, might, talent and love" into this "first musical child" of his. He plans on this release being the first of many more.
